Rivas Records is owned and ran by accomplished reggae producer and songwriter Roger Rivas. He has established himself as the top “go to” reggae keyboardist worldwide. Rivas is a founding member of Los Angeles dirty reggae kings The Aggrolites. Recently he assembled a group of top L.A reggae musicians he coins “The Brothers of Reggae” to serve as his backing band for live shows and recordings. His writing and production style draws from the classic classic Jamaican music and retro soul.
Roger has written, recorded and performed for many legendary Jamaican artists including Alton Ellis, Prince Buster, Derrick Morgan, Leonard Dillon, Fully Fullwood, Tony Chin, Santa Davis, Ras Michael, and Everton Blender, as well as contemporary artists No Doubt, Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Ozomatli, The English Beat, Quantic (Will Holland), Long Beach Dub All-stars, Tippa Lee, 10ft Ganja Plant, Dub Club and Slightly Stoopid.
Rivas’s production style varies from throwback vintage sounds to more current flavors of modern reggae. His raw and classic approach perfectly preserves the Jamaican music golden era of the late 60's and 70's. He owns and operates Rivas Studios located in Los Angeles California. There is where all of the music on the Rivas label originates.
